Hey guys! Welcome to the Sweet Girl – Garrison’s Creed character interview. I am Cristin Harber, author of Sweet Girl, Garrison’s Creed, and Sweet One, where Cash and Nicola play the leading roles. Today, we’re going to transport back to when Cash and Nicola started college.
Time frame:
Fall semester started a couple weeks ago, and Nicola’s birthday is coming up next week.
Couple status:
Cash and Nicola are crazy about each other. But, they’re still hiding their relationship.
Time for the Sweet Girl – Garrison’s Creed Character Interview to Kick Off!
Cash and Nicola to answer questions!
Cristin: Hey, Cash and Nicola! Thanks for meeting me!
Cash (lazy grin): Hey, no problem.
He gives Nicola a playful, flirting smile, and she elbows him.
Cash: Careful, Nic. Don’t act like we’re together.
Nicola (gives him the look): Seriously, we have a plan. Don’t be like that! Anyway, hi, Cristin. Thanks for having us over.
Cash: For a discussion where we’re not going to talk about—
Nicola: This is never going to work. Roman will know we’re together by the end of the week!
Cash: Your brother’s too overprotective.
Nicola: Your best friend’s too overprotective.
Cristin: Okay, okay. How about this? No one tells Roman anything! We’ll just do a little Q & A. Does that work?
Cash and Nicola both nod.
Cristin: Alright, this will be easy. We can do a few simple questions.
Cash: Fine by me.
Cristin: That was a quick answer! Let’s see if we can add a little more fun. Nicola, you could give Cash the first questions that pop into mind.
Nicola: I could do a couple.
Cash: Five’s a good number.
Nicola raises her eyebrow.
Cristin: Yes! Then we can switch.
Cash bobs his eyebrows toward her, teasing, and Nicola blushes but nods.
Nicola (fidgeting): Cash… so…
Cash: Come on, Sweet Girl. Give me your best shot.
Nicola: Favorite color?
Cash: Too easy! Blue. Give me a good one.
Nicola: Fine! Favorite memory of me—
Cash (mega-watt smile): That time—
Nicola: Before our first kiss!
Cash (pausing): The night of your eighteenth birthday, when Roman and I came home to help you celebrate, and you announced to the world, “I’m legal now.” Talk about an eye opener.
Nicola: Okay then. I’m not commenting.
Cash: You don’t need to.
Nicola: Favorite memory, post-kiss?
Cash: My favorite memory of you… Hell, maybe my favorite memory ever.
Nicola: What?
Cash: The night we made s’mores.
Nicola melts into a puddle…
Cash: Give me two more questions and then my turn.
Nicola (clears throat): Just so you know! I’m not answering personal questions in front of Cristin.
Cash: Cristin knows everything, so… Next question so that I get my turn.
Nicola: Hmm. Have you ever lied to me?
Cash: Oh, good one. Not that I’m ever going to admit to.
Nicola: Cash!
Cash (quick wink and a smile): Only when hiding how I felt about you. Nothing serious, unless you count plotting the deaths of any guy who ever took you on a date. Last question, get ready for my turn.
Nicola: What’s your favorite thing I’ve ever said to you?
Cash: I think it was, “You don’t want to kiss me.”
Nicola: That’s your favorite?
Cash: You know I love a challenge.
Cristin: And, that’s five!
Nicola: I’m not sure I can handle his questions.
Cash (cracks his knuckles and fakes an evil laugh): Get ready, Sweet Girl. There are things I’m dying to know.
Cristin: So, let’s change things up. Cash, you have complete free rein. Five questions that you like Nicola to answer.
Cash: You ready, Sweet Girl?
Nicola: Give it your best shot. I’m ready. (whispering) Kinda.
Cash: Softball question, what’s better? Chocolate or ice cream.
Nicola (big smile): S’mores.
Cash: Not one of your options.
Nicola: Yet, it is still the right answer. Favorite thing ever.
Cash: I thought I was your favorite thing ever.
Nic (rolls her eyes): Alright now.
Cash: S’mores or sex?
Nicola: Cash!
Cash: Right answer.
Nicola: That’s not what I meant!
Cristin: Okay, don’t embarrass the girl to death.
Cash: Question number two, why are you so nervous to tell Roman about us?
Nicola: My brother still sees me as a little kid. And you haven’t helped matters over the years. Pretty sure you and Roman threatened any guy who ever looked at me.
Cash (shrugs): We can just call that mission accomplished. Did you know we’d be together?
Nicola: Did you?
Cash: Absolutely.
Nicola: Oh, I’m not sure I believe you. But I like it.
Cash: Finish the sentence: My favorite part of the day is…
Nicola: Waking up next to you.
Cash: I’m going to say that’s the wrong answer. Maybe more like when you head to bed with me.
Nicola: You are awful!
Cash: Okay, what is this, question number four? Um, what kind of job do you want to have after school?
Nicola: Something that means something.
Cash: Like, what, a teacher?
Nicola: Maybe a spy…
Cash: You can be whatever you want to be. So long as you stay safe.
Nicola: Alright, Mister Overprotective.
Cash: Last question, what’s one thing you think I don’t know about you?
Nicola: That I’m just as protective over you as you are of me.
Cristin: That wasn’t so bad. Thanks you guys for hanging out and answering questions. You two are very sweet. I’m not going to say things will be easy for you, but there’s always a happy ending somewhere.
This Sweet Girl – Garrison’s Creed character interview was conducted by Cristin Harber with Cash and Nicola, the leads in Sweet Girl, Garrison’s Creed, and Sweet One. If you’ve never read their story, now is a great time to learn more about their start.
SWEET GIRL
A SWEET GIRL
Nicola Hart grew up under the heels of her older brother and his sexy best friend, Cash Garrison. Years of ignoring her spark with Cash has transformed their friendship into a slow burning sizzle. One night with him could ruin everything. Or it could be more than she ever dreamed. They play. They flirt. But they haven’t crossed the line because too much is at stake. Family. Friendship. And the deepest kind of love that she’d have to be crazy to walk away from.
HE CAN’T STAY AWAY FROM
She’s his best friend’s little sister. The definition of hands off. Cash has tried to ignore her for years. Those innocent eyes and her smile that screams kiss-me-if-you-dare… Instead, he’s looked at every pretty little thing who’s crossed his path, all to ignore the girl he seems destined to want. But when his hard partying ways get old and everyone at school is interested in Nicola, it’s time to stake a claim. To make Nicola his girl, no matter the risks, and hold the hand of the one he really loves.
Sweet Girl is the novel length prequel to USA Today bestselling Garrison’s Creed. Before Cash and Nicola can fall in love forever, they have to suffer through their first love.
